Ted Adkinson is of counsel with Roberts & Kehagiaras LLP in Long Beach, California, with over thirty years of experience in litigation and over twenty years in maritime and international trade litigation. His practice areas include domestic and international transportation law, maritime law, and business law. He has represented vessel and yacht owners, terminal operators, trucking companies and warehouse operators in state and federal courts. He is responsible for all aspects of litigation, including discovery, mediation, trial and appeal.

He has tried multiple cases, including obtaining a $4 million dollar jury award for his client in U.S. District Court for a breach of warranty claim on a luxury yacht, with a $2.375 million civil penalty for the yacht manufacturer’s willful refusal to honor its warranty. He also obtained a $1 million trial award in California State Court arising from an employee’s illegal kickback scheme. He has also prevailed in multiple appellate court decisions, including the published Starrag v. Maersk Inc., 486 F.3d 607 (9th Cir. 2007).

Mr. Adkinson earned his B.A. degree in philosophy and English from Colgate University, and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the Pepperdine University School of Law. Mr. Adkinson is admitted to practice in California, all District Courts in California, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal.
