Josh Beker began his career in International Trade in 2016 as a Law Clerk in Houston, TX and has practiced as an attorney following admission to the Texas Bar in 2018. During his career, Josh has helped represent clients at all levels of industry – from the advice and planning stage, to litigation matters before the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. Through his practice, Josh has assisted clients across a wide array of industries including: construction, oil and gas, heavy machinery, apparel, consumer electronics, and others.
Josh advises importers on tariff classification issues, Anti-dumping/Countervailing Duty (ADD/CVD) investigations, obtaining scope ruling requests in front of the International Trade Administration (ITA), Free Trade Agreement (FTA) analysis, and navigating Trade Remedy Actions including both Section 232 and Section 301 Actions, having secured millions of dollars’ worth of exclusions for his clients. Additionally, Josh assists clients in drafting import focused compliance programs.
Josh regularly advises exporters on regulatory matters under the various economic sanctions programs administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), as well as various programs administered by the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) through the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Josh routinely handles export license and classification requests before BIS and counsels clients by drafting compliance programs for exporters.

In his spare time, Josh maintains a strong academic interest in National Security and International Humanitarian Law, having helped author multiple journal articles, book chapters, and continues to coach Mock Trial Teams competing in international competitions.
