In United States v. Trek Leather, Inc., 767 F.3d 1288 (Fed. Cir. 2014), the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit determined that a corporate officer’s conduct violated 19 U.S.C. § 1592(a)(1) (“1592”) without piercing the corporate veil when the company acted as the “importer of record.”1
